Communities Matter. Community Matters.
G.A.I.N. (Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods) is a day for Arizonans to join forces and promote awareness, safety and neighborhood unity. G.A.I.N. showcases the importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight for a safer Arizona. This year’s event is poised to be our most action packed. We will have face painters, balloon sculptors, a bouncy house, Phoenix Fire Department with a truck to check out, grillable yumminess and soft drinks provided by your Co-Chairs. Everything else is potluck. Bring a side or dessert to share. We'll be holding a raffle ($1 a ticket or an arm’s length for $20) with proceeds going toward the annual holiday luminary display in December. Typically, G.A.I.N. events are visited by folks from your City Councilperson’s office, our Community Action Officer, and other city representatives involved in our neighborhood. This is a great opportunity to mingle with them and chat. Everyone living in or around Simpson Neighborhood is welcome to come join us at 1944 W Luke Ave from 4pm to 7pm October 15th.
As always, assistance would be greatly appreciated in setting up and taking down the block party, so head over around 3:00 if you’re interested in helping!

Community Updates
As there are always things going on in a neighborhood and city this size, we will be working to share a few of the more timely ones here:
Trash and Recycling Services are changing days, our new day will be Tuedays starting October 4th.
Do not block sidewalks with vehicles. The intent is to ensure that pedestrians, including those in wheelchairs, with canes, or walking strollers can use the sidewalk without having to move into yards or streets.
Increase in graffiti and illegal dumping - please help us report! Large issues almost always start small help us resolve those smaller issues early by reporting graffiti at myPHX311, and reporting illegal dumping in progress to Crime Stop at 602-262-6151
