Happy 2025 everyone, off on another lap around the sun! This year we have some big things coming. Starting with our first meeting of the year, moving on to annual Neighborhood Yard Sales the first week in March, GAIN Block Party in April, some street litter pick ups, Holiday Luminaries, Holiday Decorating contests, and Hot Chocolate Socials. 

Free Trees 

We’re still working to confirm a date for our Spring Tree planting, but are looking for households that want to sign up for their free trees (up to three of them). If you haven’t yet, please email us. We will be reaching out as planting dates solidify

You are invited to our GAIN Block Party

Who is ready to cut loose a little? It is time for our GAIN Potluck event. We will be providing burgers and hotdogs neighbors supply the rest. We’ll have the Grant Giveaway items including some window locks, smoke alarms, fire blankets, and more from the 2024 grant available first come first serve.  We will have a bouncy castle, face painters, and balloon sculptures for the kiddos. We will end the evening with a family friendly movie. Come by, say hi, meet some folks, enjoy some good food, grab some freebie goodies. Block Party will be at 1944 W Luke Ave starting at 5pm. We can not wait to see you all. 

Neighborhood Updates

We are working with various city departments on regular issues along Bethany Home, 19th Avenue, Camelback, and the I-17 Access Road. The more neighbors that contact the city with their concerns, the more success and impact we will have. Please continue reporting blight, trespassing, dumping, and other regular issues to the city. This includes NSD through our Neighborhood Specialist Malissa or My Phoenix 311 as well as emailing Councilwoman Pastor’s office and  our Police CAOs.

Don’t forget that My Phoenix 311 app can be used to report violations, street issues, and more. All city programs are complaint based so using the app to make them aware is the best way to get concerns addressed.

• Volunteers to assist as a treasurer and to assist as a secretary willing to help coordinate future grant funds, newsletters, record minutes, and assist with website updates.
