Cooler weather is upon us (FINALLY). Looking forward to seeing neighbors out and about again. 

Free Trees 

Well that was fun! Nearly 75 new trees were planted around the neighborhood the first week of October. Looking forward to all that shade as these trees mature. 

The grant is still available so we are planning another planting in the spring with our Annual GAIN Event. Each address is eligible again for two free trees. Please reach out via email or text by January 31 with your name, contact information, species of tree, and planting location (front or back yard) to be included. Holiday Luminaries

We know fall is just getting started but it’s never too late to start making the call for street captains for our Holiday Luminary display. What is a street captain? They are neighbors that volunteer to take on putting together luminaries for an area they designate when they sign up. This can be a single street or an entire block. It can be just you or you can recruit neighbors and children to help out. Please email with your name, address, and area you feel willing to cover by 12/1. 

Luminaries will be on display 12/20 thru 12/22. With the hot chocolate social on 12/20 at 1944 W Luke Ave. Come out, enjoy the luminaries, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, and assorted snacks.

Don’t forget that My Phoenix 311 app can be used to report violations, street issues, and more. All city programs are complaint based so using the app to make them aware is the best way to get concerns addressed.

• Volunteers to assist as a treasurer. This person will help manage the Grant funds. 

• Volunteers to assist as a secretary willing to help coordinate future newsletters, record minutes, and assist with website updates. 

• Luminary Street Captain Volunteers to assemble, distribute, and clean up luminaires on their selected location

Luminarias navideñas
